Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 4 cups Cabot Sharp Cheddar, shredded
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

Cook Macaroni

  • Boil the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Prepare Cheese Sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Whisk in flour, salt, pepper, and mustard powder until well combined.
  • Gradually add milk and heavy cream, continuing to whisk until the mixture thickens.

Add Cabot Cheese

  • Stir in the Cabot Sharp Cheddar cheese until it's fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine and Bake

  • Mix the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni until evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.

Bake to Perfection

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
