Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • kidney beans, 2 cans (15 ounces each), drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Brown the Beef: In the large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add Aromatics: Add diced onions and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until onions are translucent and fragrant.
  • Spice it Up: Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the spices meld with the meat and onions.
  • Tomato Tango: Pour in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Mix well, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Bring in the Beans: Add the kidney beans to the pot. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
  • Simmer to Perfection: Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for at least 30-45 minutes, allowing the flavors to intensify.
