Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Measuring cups, and spoons
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Storage container (if not using immediately)

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (if needed for desired consistency)

Instructions

  • In a blender or food processor, combine the chipotle peppers, minced garlic, mayonnaise, lime juice, honey, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.
  • Blend the ingredients until you have a smooth and creamy consistency. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a little water to thin it out.
  • Taste the sauce and customize the seasonings to suit your preference. Add more salt or lime juice if desired.
  • Transfer the chipotle sauce to a saucepan and heat it over low heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. This step helps to enhance the flavors and meld the ingredients together.
  • Once heated, remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool before transferring it to a storage container or serving immediately.
