Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Citrus juicer
  • Cocktail glass or margarita glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Margarita salt or kosher salt (for rimming the glass)
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of tequila
  • 1 ounce of Grand Marnier liqueur
  • 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge, for garnish
  • Optional: Simple syrup (1/2 ounce)

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, Grand Marnier liqueur, freshly squeezed lime juice, and simple syrup (if using). Place a generous handful of ice cubes into the shaker.
  • Give the ingredients a vigorous shake for approximately 15-20 seconds to ensure a well-chilled mixture.
  • Fill the rimmed glass with ice cubes.
  • Strain the margarita mixture from the shaker into the glass, over the ice cubes.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.
