  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Before you begin, set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Incorporate the cold, cubed butter into the dry ingredients. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
  • Gently pour in the milk and vanilla extract, then stir until the dough forms a cohesive mixture. Be careful not to overmix; it should be slightly crumbly.
