1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions
Prepare the Roux
Use a saucepan over medium heat to melt the butter.
To create a smooth roux slowly whisk in the flour. Cook for 2-3 minutes until it turns a golden brown color.
Infuse Flavors
Slowly pour in the chicken broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
Add onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried thyme.
Allow the mixture to simmer over low heat until it thickens to your desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
Season and Serve
Taste the gravy and add salt as needed.
Once the gravy reaches the desired thickness, remove it from heat.
