Ingredients
4 cups fresh corn kernels
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Corn
Cut the fresh corn kernels from the cobs using a knife. Set aside.
Make the Cream Sauce
Over medium heat use a medium-sized saucepan, to melt the butter.
Add flour and keep whisking to make a roux consistently. Cook for 1-2 minutes until it's lightly golden.
Combine Ingredients
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
Add the fresh corn kernels and sugar to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
Simmer and Season
Turn the heat down and let it gently cook for 10-15 minutes, so the flavors can mix together nicely.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve
Once the creamed corn reaches a creamy consistency, remove it from the heat.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
